This Privacy Policy explains how Crossroads Technologies LLC ("we", "us") handles information when you use Dragon Name Generator (the "Site"). We aim to collect as little as possible. The calculator on this Site runs entirely in your browser: the values you type into it are processed on your device and are not sent to or stored by us.

Information you choose to give us

If you sign up for emails, we store the email address you enter, the site you signed up on, and a record that you agreed. We use it only to send occasional updates about new and updated tools on this Site, and every email lets you unsubscribe.

With every form you send, we also store the date and time, the browser identification string your browser sends (its "user agent"), and a hash of your IP address (because the number of possible IP addresses is limited, this is not strong anonymization). To prevent abuse, our form service also keeps your IP address itself for up to 10 minutes after the last form you send, to count how many forms are sent from it.

Information we do not collect

We do not require an account, and we do not record the values you type into the calculator. Calculations happen locally in your browser.

Analytics and server logs

This Site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to deliver and protect the Site. We use that data only for security and aggregate traffic measurement, not to identify you personally.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare adds its script (from static.cloudflareinsights.com) to every page of this Site, and the script sends a report to /cdn-cgi/rum on this Site. Per Cloudflare, it measures how the page loads (timing and performance measurements) and records the page, the site that referred you, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type. It runs on every visit, whatever you choose in the consent message. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors’ personal data or track individual visitors across websites. We see only totals from it, such as page loads by referring site.

We also record how the Site is used. The events we record are: which pages are viewed; how far down a page you scroll (25, 50, 75, or 100 percent); whether the calculator showed a result and how long that took; which offer and ad slots were shown, which came into view, and which offer links were clicked; and which layout version of the page you were shown. For each event we store the page, the event and its details (for example the scroll percentage or the offer clicked), which version of the page you were shown, the consent level the event was recorded under (full or basic), and the date and time it was received. These events never include the values you type into the calculator, your IP address, or your name or email address.

Before recording these events, the Site waits for the consent message to report whether consent rules apply to you. Where consent rules do not apply (for example, for most visitors in the United States), these events are recorded for each visit without asking first. Where consent is required, these events are recorded only after you consent through the consent message. If you decline, or if the consent message has not loaded, only a basic page-view event is recorded (the page, which version of the page you were shown, and the date and time), with no identifier. Each event is kept as its own record, not only as a total.

Our own team marks its browsers with a local storage entry named cn_internal so that our visits are left out of these measurements; it is set only by a special link and not for ordinary visitors.

Advertising and cookies

This Site displays advertising provided by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

The cookies of other third-party vendors and ad networks may also be used to serve ads on this Site. Google lists the third-party ad vendors and ad networks that may serve ads through its platform. You may visit those vendors’ websites to opt out of the use of cookies for personalized advertising, where the vendor offers that, or opt out of some vendors’ use of these cookies at www.aboutads.info. Where required, a consent message asks for your permission before advertising cookies are used.

This Site shows a consent message provided by Google. It stores your consent choices in cookies named FCCDCF and FCNEC, which Google’s consent message sets.

Service providers

This Site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also provides the Cloudflare Web Analytics measurement described above. Details you send through the forms on this Site are stored for us by Cloudflare. Usage events are stored in our own database.

How long we keep information

Details you send through a form are kept until you ask us to delete them; they do not expire automatically. The IP address our form service keeps to prevent abuse is deleted up to 10 minutes after the last form you send. Usage events are currently kept without a fixed deletion date.

Your choices

You can clear cookies and site data at any time through your browser settings. Because we do not maintain user accounts, there is no profile to delete.

Every email we send lets you unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops those emails. When you unsubscribe, we keep a record of the unsubscribed address (with the site, the list and the date) so that we do not email it again. To have us delete the details you gave us, email hello@namesplease.app, and we will delete what we hold about you.
